Chapter 15: BRICK

“You got some shit you need to tell me?” I asked Persia’s devious ass.

“What? What are you talking about, Brick? You’re the one with a file on me like you’re the cops or some shit,” she argued. “And why you got a gun out on me? You gon’ shoot me, Brick? “She asked with tears slowly rolling down her cheeks.

“Do I have to? What’s your angle? Since I met you, my life has been nothing but fucking hell. First, you rob Desmond. When you robbed him, you robbed me. That was my storage house that you and your pussy ass goons ran up in,” I said, putting emphasis on goons. “Then my fucking strip club gets robbed and not a soul in the streets heard nothing. Now, my fucking best friend, right hand man, comes up missing and now is dead. So you tell me, should I put a bullet in your head now or after you tell me who the fuck those niggas with you were?"

She gave me the deadliest stare ever. “Brick, are you fucking serious right now? That shit with Desmond didn’t have anything to do with you. When I met him, he gave me the impression that he was the head nigga in charge so I planned to get his ass because he was a goofy ass nigga,” she replied with no remorse. “I had nothing to do with your best friend coming up missing or ending up dead.”

She tried to storm past me but I grabbed her ass by her neck and slammed her against the wall.

She clawed at my hands. “Let me go, Brick!”

“Bitch, you’re a snake. If you want your life while I’m giving you the opportunity to leave with it, you better do so now.”

She started gasping for air due to me applying more pressure around her throat.

“You explained Desmond and my best friend, but what about my club? Huh, bitch?” I shouted as I continued to choke her and her eyes got big ass saucers. She looked like she was about to pass out. I finally let her go. She fell in the doorway of my office.

“Get your shit and get the fuck out, bitch! And tell whoever those fuck niggas you were with that I’m coming for them.”

She slowly got up off the floor and looked at me with sad eyes.

“I never meant for this to happen.”

She walked over to the couch, still crying, and grabbed her purse and sunglasses. I watched as she shifted through her purse. She pulled a gun out of her purse and aimed in my direction. I didn’t flinch or blink. This wasn’t my first time staring down the barrel of a gun and it wouldn’t be my last.

“If you ever put your hands on me again, I’ll leave your ass stinking.” holding the gun with a steady arm while tears where still rolling down her face.

I just stared at her. I knew this girl was the one for me. We had a connection that I couldn’t deny even if I wanted to.
